Vilhelm Lauritzen for Fog & Mørup, chandelier, opaline glass, brass, coated brass, Denmark, 1940s

This very rare chandelier was created by the renowned Danish Modern architect Vilhelm Theodor Lauritzen during the 1940s. He was a highly significant architect of his era in Denmark and was instrumental in pioneering the Danish modernist movement. Even today, several of his works continue to serve as timeless examples of the once radical and revolutionary architecture that embraced the principle of form follows function. With its captivating composition and fine material use, this chandelier will enlighten your living space in a graceful manner. Arranged in pairs, the downward-facing opaline glass shades are secured to the black coated brass circular frame. The light construction is suspended by three thin cables and closed at the ceiling with a cone-shaped canopy. Due to its significant size, the chandelier can function as a centerpiece in one's interior. The exceptional craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail of the designer are evident in this design, setting it apart as a remarkable exemplar of its kind.
