Ueli Berger for De Sede, lounge chair, model 'DS-80', lacquered wood, leather, Switzerland, 1970s

The 'DS-80' lounge chair designed by Ueli Berger for De Sede. The frame is a stark, dark grey angular structure composed of two elongated struts intersecting in a bold Z-shape that holds the seat in an assertive recline. There is a striking tension between the uncompromising linearity of the base against the relaxed, yielding surface of the cushions. The patinated cognac leather is stitched in narrow vertical channels, which subtly elongate the form.

De Sede once started as a saddler's workshop in Klingnau, Switzerland. Over time, the company expanded its vision and dedicated itself to crafting high-quality seating furniture from the finest leather. In 1965, this family-run business evolved into a professional enterprise known as De Sede AG. Renowned for their meticulous attention to detail, De Sede products prioritize the needs and comfort of their users. Consequently, every DeSede item is made from premium materials, ensuring both durability and comfort.

Kindly note that the piece is in good, used condition with signs of age and use. For further details, we encourage you to reach out to our team of design specialists.
