Superstudio for Zanotta 'Quaderna' Square Table

Sale price$8,450.00

Superstudio for Zanotta, 'Quaderna' dining table as part of the 'Misura' series, silk-screened plastic laminated wood, Italy, design 1969-72

The Quaderna table is one of the best-known pieces of Italian Radical Design. It was conceived between 1969-1972 by the Florence-based architecture collective Superstudio and put into production by Zanotta from 1972. Superstudio reduced the table to an almost anonymous geometric volume: a rectangular plane, four square legs and an uninterrupted black grid.

The craftsmen meticulously clad the object face by face in silk-screened plastic laminate, so that a single three-dimensional grid appeared to pass continuously over the entire form.
