Silvio Berrone for Bialetti Headquarters Free Standing Writing Desk
Silvio Berrone for Bialetti headquarters, writing desk, faux leather, brass, stained beech, Vitrex glass, Italy, 1955-56
This writing desk is designed by Silvio Berrone for the Bialetti headquarters in Omegna, the renowned producer of Italian coffee makers. In 1957, Berrone was awarded 100.000 Lira for his ground-breaking and innovative use of Vitrex glass produced by V.I.S. (Vetro Italiano di Sicurezza, Milanese Glass Company) for the Bialetti building, including the interior and façade. The design bears witness to the designer's excellent taste for form and harmonic compositions. The legs in green leatherette are organically sculpted wit round finishes and stand in contrast with the strict and linear layout of the top. Two drawers and the double-layered glass tops provide space to place one’s stationary. This desk truly intensifies the experience of working itself and is a standout that can be placed in the heart of one's interior.
Please note that the glass contains scratches. For further details, we encourage you to reach out to our team of design specialists.
