Safari Chair in Patinated Brown Leather and Oak 1940s
Safari chair, oak and leather, Europe, 1940s.
Robust yet stately safari chair that gained a very rich patina. This armchair features wonderfully carved wooden legs that raise up and hold up the leather straps that function as armrests. These leather straps are nailed to the legs with subtle, Classic nails. The leather seat is strapped to the wooden frame that keeps the cushion in its place, while the backrest is connected at one point which makes it possible to adjust to the person's posture.
The chair has a rich all-over patina, giving the piece an old, historical character.
