This striking staircase with a rubber step surface is called the 'Helicloid' staircase and is part of the "M 400" series by Roger Tallon. The piece is executed in cast and polished aluminum and features black non-slip rubber on the surface. This particular model comes with thirteen steps. The staircase is featured in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Roger Tallon (1929-2011) was a French Industrial designer. Tallon was trained as an engineer. He designed hundreds of products, including industrial robots for Peugeot, refrigerators, tableware, lamps and furniture.
