Large Set of Mid-Century Modern Dining Chairs in Blonde Wood

Sale price$650.00

Dining chairs, beech, Europe, 1960s

This kind of chair design was not meant to impress through extravagance, but through clarity. It is a humble piece, but in its shape, you see the confidence of a post-war design ethos: efficiency with warmth, modernity without losing the human touch. Its shape is honest – neither ornamental nor minimalist to the extreme – but instead thoughtfully reduced to just what is necessary. The seat is slightly curved, formed from plywood beech, gently tapering at the edges to soften the geometry. The backrest, a horizontally placed bar of bentwood, leans back modestly, held by two vertical rods that aren’t quite perpendicular, but angled slightly outward. The legs mirror this outward splay, giving the chair a grounded stance.

Kindly note that the chairs are in good, used condition with signs of age and use. For further details, we encourage you to reach out to our team of design specialists.
