Designed by Joe Colombo for Zanotta in 1970, the Birillo bar stools have a striking geometric form typical of Colombo’s futuristic approach. A square, softly padded seat with rounded edges is balanced by a small circular backrest in black leather, supported on two slender rods. Below, a polished cylindrical stainless-steel column flows into a bold four-lobed black plastic base. A simple tubular steel footrest wraps around the front of the stool, echoing the clean lines of the frame. The seat can also swivel, adding functionality to its sculptural design.
