Italian Rustic Pine Bench with Organic Form

Bench, pine, Italy, 1950s

A robust Italian pine bench with a rustic character and gently flowing contours. The broad backrest follows the natural irregularities of the wood, while shaped plank legs and curved wooden braces give the construction a balanced appearance. Visible knots, expressive grain and a warm patina lend depth to the surface, complemented by exposed metal fixings. The simple design highlights the natural qualities of the pine.
