This bulky, low-slung lounge chair captures the relaxed confidence of Italian design in the 1980s. Rather than appearing light, rational, or structurally explicit, the chair embraces mass. Its generous upholstered volumes seem to swell outward, softening the boundaries between seat, backrest, and armrests until the object reads almost as a single continuous body.
The chair sits close to the floor, supported by short wooden feet. This low centre of gravity gives it a grounded, informal character: instead of asking the sitter to remain upright, it encourages them to sink, recline, and inhabit the furniture.
