Hans Ell for 't Spectrum Grey Settee
Hans Ell for 't Spectrum, Two-seat sofa SZ18, the Netherlands, 1970s.
This sofa was designed by Hans Ell for 't Spectrum. This design has only been in production for one year, hence the rarity of this design nowadays. The piece is executed with a tubular chromed steel frame and grey cushions that fall into the frame. The piece therefore has a strong shell-like aesthetics. Very Dutch on the one hand due to the minimalistic, functional tendencies whilst on the other hand they fit within a wider range of midcentury modernism due to the soft, organic shapes.
