Swedish architect Gunnar Asplund (1885–1940) designed these elegant wall lamps for ASEA in the 1940s. The design reflects his restrained and architectural approach, where clean lines are balanced with refined materials. A slender brass arm projects gracefully from the wall, supporting a softly shaped opaline glass shade.
The cylindrical shade gently widens before tapering towards the top and is finished with a brass ring that neatly frames the glass. The evenly coloured opaline glass diffuses the light in a warm and pleasant manner, creating a soft ambient glow while emphasizing the sculptural quality of the design.
