Gunnar Asplund for ASEA, wall lamp, blown glass, lacquered metal, Sweden, 1940s

Swedish architect Gunnar Asplund (1885โ€“1940) designed this large yet elegant wall lamp in the 1940s. This striking fixture features a polygonal structure with an elongated arm that elegantly supports a delicate glass shade. The cylindrical shade subtly widens and then tapers again, encased by a metal ring. The glass itself is richly textured, infused with air bubbles of varying sizes and has a clear tone. Kindly note this is the largest variant of this wonderful model.
