Giuseppe Rivadossi for Officina Rivadossi, dining table, oak, Italy, 1980s

Giuseppe Rivadossi’s mastery of material and construction is beautifully expressed in this dining table. Architecturally composed through sophisticated joinery and wooden pins, the table celebrates craftsmanship as both structure and ornament. The top rests on the base through visible notches, locking securely into place through its own weight and ingenious construction. Hand-planed surfaces reveal the maker’s touch, giving the oak wood a rich and tactile character. A timeless piece that perfectly embodies Rivadossi’s sculptural approach to furniture design.

Giuseppe Rivadossi (1935) was born in Monteclana di Nave, Italy, where he still lives and works. At a young age, Rivadossi's path begins with wood carving, with works reflecting on his poetic idea of living. In 1962, Rivadossi took over the carpentry founded in 1920 by his father Clemente, which he transformed into an atelier, or rather a creative workshop. Eventually, Rivadossi and collaborators established 'Officina Rivadossi' in 1976 where he started the manufacture of wooden objects and unique modern furniture.
