Giuseppe Rivadossi for Officina Rivadossi, bedroom set consisting of double bed with matching nightstands, oak, Italy, 1970s

A beautifully crafted handmade bed and pair of matching nightstands designed by Giuseppe Rivadossi. Executed entirely in solid oak, the set showcases the designer’s exceptional woodworking skills through its striking exposed joinery and sculptural detailing.

The carefully considered connections and robust construction give the ensemble a strong architectural character, while the rich oak grain adds warmth and depth. Both elegant and exceptionally sturdy, this 140 cm wide bed is a superb example of Rivadossi’s timeless approach to craftsmanship and design.

Giuseppe Rivadossi (1935) was born in Monteclana di Nave, Italy, where he continues to live and work. His journey with wood carving began at a young age, each piece embodying his poetic vision of life. In 1962, Rivadossi took over the carpentry business founded by his father, Clemente, in 1920, transforming it into an atelier, or rather a creative workshop. In 1976, Rivadossi and his collaborators established ‘Officina Rivadossi’, where he began crafting unique wooden objects and modern furniture, blending artistry with craftsmanship.
