Giulio Moscatelli Bench in Teak and Red Upholstery
Giulio Moscatelli, bench, teak, fabric, Italy, ca. 1950.
This bench by Giulio Moscatelli is distinctive in its execution. The legs are beautifully sculpted, showing concave carvings. The diagonal placed armrests give a sense of dynamism. A quite unusual feature is the way the bench is structured in three seatings. Pure, structural forms in combination with the used materials - teak and red fabric - results in a settee that fits within the Italian design ethos of the fifties.
Please note that this item is in used condition and the fabric shows signs of wear and age.
