Sale price$9,450.00

Gianfranco Frattini for Cassina, 'Bull' sofa, Italy, 1980s

A monumental sofa design by Gianfranco Frattini for Cassina. This piece was designed in 1987 and it shows typical traits for that period in art and design. This sofa is bulky and fully made in a high quality thick black leather. The legs of this sofa are cone shaped and executed in a black lacquered metal.

Gianfranco Frattini (1926-2004) was born in Padua and studied architecture at the Milan Politechnico. After his studies, Frattini started working for Gio Ponti until 1956. Afterwards, he opened his own practice in Milan and began creating his own designs. His work is mostly part of the generation that created the Italian design movement of the late 1950s through the 1960s. The designer eventually died in Milan in 2004.

Please note that this sofa is in used condition. There are some small damages to the leather. Reupholstery can be done before shipping by our experienced craftsmen and -women in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece contains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized reupholstery is possible as well.
