Georges van Rijck 'Cantilever' Armchair in Blue Checkered Upholstery

Georges van Rijck for Beaufort, 'Cantilever' lounge chair, fabric, wood and steel, Belgium, 1970s.

This playful 'Cantilever' armchair is designed by Georges van Rijck. The chair shows sharp lines and an angled, floating seat. The S-shaped frame form the legs and arms of the seat, starting with the feet, running up and flows into the with wood finished armrests. The upholstered seats are slightly tangled and the tufted backrest is tilted, resulting in a relaxing seat.

The chair is upholstered in a blue and turquoise checkered upholstery, which shows signs of age and use. We recommend to reupholster these pieces. The professional and experienced craftsmen in our in-house atelier are specialists in the reupholstery of design furniture. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value.
