Instead, he advocated for the production of furniture that met his rigorous standards of design integrity, positing that commercial success would naturally ensue from genuine quality. In his inaugural year at Herman Miller, Nelson generated an impressive 77 designs. He further posited that industrial design served as a confluence of all artistic disciplines.
