G.W. Rietveld and J. Tricht Long Bench
G.W. Rietveld and interior designer J. Tricht, bench, white faux leather and metal, the Netherlands, 1965.
This sofa was originally designed as a 'hall bench' function for a local bank in Dedemsvaart, the Netherlands. J. Tricht was the interior decorator of this space and was a partner from 1965 of Gerrit Rietveld. The piece was designed for the interior of this local bank that was built between 1962 and 1965 to a design by Gerrit Rietveld and J Tricht. This piece has only been made once and it is therefore very rare. The execution of this piece is very solid and made of stainless steel en covered in original high quality leatherette. The piece is geometric and sturdy as is common for the design by Rietveld.
