French Pair of Dining Chairs in Stained Wood and Rush
Pair of armchairs, stained wood, rush, France, 1940s.
Decorative pair of French armchairs. The stained wooden frame has multiple carved details that add up to a complex whole. Carved lines and circular ends, straight and round parts come together to form a rather striking Art Deco chair. A special feature is the elegant backrest that contains two separate slats of stained wood which are beautifully carved. Webbed straw as the material for the seat adds a natural character to the patinated frames and the overall design.
