French Multifunctional Cabinet in Solid Elm
Bar cabinet, elm, velvet, France, 1950s.
This multifunctional cabinet is from French origin and embraces naturalistic forms combined with bold accents. The elmwood material has an incredibly soft, visual texture that shows nice wooden grains. The slats are constructed in a biomorphic manner exposing undulating lines and hilly surfaces on which the light reflects beautifully. Functionality comes into play through the two functions this item embraces: you can simultaneously use it as a bar or as a cabinet. The latter has been established by the hidden built-in shelves behind the door panel. The elm squares are placed against a red velvet background, which gives the design a vivid and lively expression.
Please note that we advise reupholstery of the red fabric. This fabric contains threadbare upholstery with loose seams and small stains. Reupholstery can be done before shipping by our experienced craftsmen and -women in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece contains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized reupholstery is possible as well.
We currently have three of these cabinets in our collection.
