French Daybed in Stainless Steel and Burgundy Velvet Upholstery

Sale price$12,700.00

Daybed sofa, stainless steel, fabric, France, late 1960s.

Modern and sleek daybed in stainless steel and velvet patterned upholstery. This design has a very strong expression due to the minimalist shaped steel frame. This Industrial base holds the cushions, upholstered in a Classic and warm purple-red colored velvet. A captivating contrast is created between the decorative pattern and the sleek and smooth look of the steel.

French steel manufacturer Uginox asked five designers to make a collection of furniture with stainless steel as key element. Designers Francois Monnet, Francoise See, Jacques Charpentier, Michel Boyer and Maria Pergay succeeded to create excellent furniture with this rather new material for the furniture industry. Maria Pergay kept working in stainless steel. She is known for her frivolous and expressive designs in this 'cold' and Industrial material.

Please note that the fabric is in used condition with tears and holes. Reupholstery is possible before shipping by our experienced craftsman and -women in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized reupholstery is possible as well.
