Dining Table by Danish Cabinetmaker in Teak and Maple
Cabinetmaker, dining table, maple, teak, Denmark, 1940s
This dining table was designed by a Danish furniture maker, whose identity is unfortunately not yet known. The designer clearly understood how to design a high-quality piece of furniture. The avocado-shaped tabletop is executed in maple and surrounded by a teak rim that emphasizes the delicate round form. The base consists of slim legs that are secured to the table via carved beams. The use of natural materials, well-conceived proportions, free from decoration, and the high-level of craftsmanship, the designer blended all these elements that are characteristic for Danish Mid-Century Design into one piece of furniture. This design reminds of the Scandinavian design masters, such as Finn Juhl, Arne Vodder, Børge Mogensen, Ejvind A. Johansson, and Brockmann Petersen.
Kindly note that this piece is in good, used condition.
