Danish Coffee Table in Wengé and Slate

Sale price$1,950.00

Coffee table, wengé, slate, Denmark, 1960s.

This modest, simplistic coffee table is very convincing to the eye by means of the implementation of natural materials. The wengé showcases an intricate warm deep wooden grain that gracefully surrounds the black square that is executed in slate. This stone is a metamorphic rock that is characterized by a clear, dominant foliation of alternating layers which creates a calm and rustic touch to the design. The construction is defined by sharp lines and right-angles shapes which is typical for Danish mid-century design. This side table strongly reminds of the creations by the renowned designers Preben Fabricius (1931-1984) & Jorgen Kastholm (1931-2007).

Please note that this item is in good, used condition with traces of age and use, including scratches and dents. The slate top needs to be replaced. For further details, we encourage you to reach out to our team of design specialists.
