Angelo Lelii for Arredoluce, table lamp model ‘500’, marble, brushed steel, chrome-plated steel, mirrored glass, Italy, circa 1969
This unique table lamp is designed by Italian designer Angelo Lelii for Arredoluce around 1969. The design is mainly carried out through a cylindrical shape executed in brushed steel, which enriches the overall strong character of the lamp. The base is made of white marble that smoothly overlaps with the metallic texture. Lelii started his projects always from something concrete, a light bulb or a magnet for example, or from “glass” that he interpreted inventively to apply to the bodies of his lamps. It is one of the first lamps employing an adjustable magnetized globe made of chrome-plated steel and allows the user to adjust the direction of the light. The top is equipped with a diffuser in mirrored glass through which the light shines elegantly. This specific table lamp makes evident all his genius and can serve as a standout in any modern room.
