These lounge chairs present a distinctly 1930s Finnish take on Art Deco. Their shape is defined first and foremost by the curve: a continuous gesture that runs from the backrest down into the arm supports, and then gently resolves into the legs. Seen in profile, the chairs almost appear to be in motion. The back sweeps gently rearward, its birchwood surface radiating an organic warmth. The silhouette recalls the work of Finnish designer Arttu Brummer (1891-1951) working across glass, furniture, and interiors.
