Pair of Brutalist Lounge Chairs in Solid Oak

Sale price£4,805.48

Pair of lounge chairs, solid oak, velvet, Europe, 1960s

These armchairs combine traditional cabinetmaking principles with a bold modern vocabulary. Executed in solid oak, the chairs are defined by a deliberately substantial construction in which the structural elements become an essential part of their visual identity. Broad, gently shaped armrests rest upon heavy supports, while exposed wooden pegs and pronounced joinery lend the design a provincial character. Rather than concealing their construction, the chairs celebrate the weight, grain and craftsmanship of the oak. Thick cushions, upholstered in a patterned sand-beige velvet, provide the necessary comfort and support for the body.

Kindly note that the fabric is in good, used condition. Your special requests regarding reupholstery and finishing can be realized by the experienced craftspeople in our own in-house restoration and upholstery atelier.
