Italian Art Deco Cabinet in Parchment and Walnut
Open here
Cabinet, parchment, glass, walnut, Italy, 1930s
This elegant Italian cabinet combines warm walnut with parchment in soft ivory tones. The broad top appears to float above the body, while angled upper corners and extended side supports give the piece an architectural silhouette. A glazed upper compartment offers space for displaying objects, above two parchment covered doors with sculpted black handles. Matching dark details at the feet provide a bold contrast to the pale surfaces. The parchment’s subtle tonal variations and visible seams add texture and character.
Its refined proportions and distinctive combination of materials recall the work of Guglielmo Ulrich and Melchiorre Bega.
