Giuseppe Rivadossi Hand-Carved Coffee Table in Oak
Tearsheet
Giuseppe Rivadossi for Officina Rivadossi, coffee table, oak, Italy, 1970s
A beautifully crafted coffee table in solid oak by Giuseppe Rivadossi. Defined by its bold architectural form and striking exposed joinery, the design celebrates the beauty of traditional woodworking and the natural character of the material. The carefully executed connections and rich oak grain give the piece a sculptural quality, while its robust construction reflects Rivadossi’s commitment to craftsmanship and durability. Simple in form yet rich in detail, this table is a fine example of the designer’s timeless approach to furniture making.
Giuseppe Rivadossi (1935) was born in Monteclana di Nave, Italy, where he continues to live and work. His journey with wood carving began at a young age, each piece embodying his poetic vision of life. In 1962, Rivadossi took over the carpentry business founded by his father, Clemente, in 1920, transforming it into an atelier, or rather a creative workshop. In 1976, Rivadossi and his collaborators established ‘Officina Rivadossi’, where he began crafting unique wooden objects and modern furniture, blending artistry with craftsmanship.
