Pair of dining chairs, straw, ash, France, 1960s
This pair of side chairs features a solid wooden frame with robust cylindrical legs, elegantly connected by slim horizontal stretchers. The seats and backrests are executed in straw. The way this set is designed shows a strong resemblance to the ´Dordogne´ chairs designed by Charlotte Perriand. Particularly the characteristic method of folding straw rope vertically, which leaves this typical horizontal line in the middle of the back and the seat.
