Danish Easy Chair in Green Upholstery
Easy chair, fabric, beech, Denmark, 1940s.
This easy chair with its soft edges, tufted lines, and sturdy shape is typical for Danish design of the Art Deco period. The imposing, high backrest creates a comfortable experience, stimulating the sitter to spend more time on it. The back rest of this chair has a modest wing accompanied with bulky, round armrests which makes it possible to lay down your arms comfortably. In contrast to the small beech legs, this chair has a counterbalanced appearance. The front legs have a round shape and the back ones a square shape which are slightly tapered. From the back, the chair has a surprisingly round shape that leans slightly backwards, contributing to its sophisticated look.
Please note that we advise reupholstery before use. This item contains threadbare upholstery with tears, wear, and stains. Reupholstery can be done before shipping by our experienced craftspeople in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece contains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized reupholstery is possible as well.
