Staten Kontrol Møbler, dining chair, oak, fabric, Denmark, 1960s.

This Danish armchair in solid oak exhibits a restrained geometric clarity characteristic of mid-twentieth-century Scandinavian design. The legs descend vertically with slight tapering, emphasizing structural honesty and visual lightness. Stretchers connect the legs that stabilizes the chair while remaining visually unobtrusive.

The armrests extend as linear cantilevers from the rear posts to the front supports. The backrest introduces a subtle softening of the geometry: a gently curved upholstered panel suspended within the wooden frame, providing ergonomic accommodation while maintaining formal restraint.

Kindly take note that the fabric is in used condition. Reupholstery is possible before shipping by our experienced craftspeople in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized reupholstery is possible as well.
