Barovier & Toso table lamp, crystal glass, Italy, 1940s

Exceptional Barovier & Toso table lamp from the 1940s, crafted entirely from richly textured clear glass using the renowned Rostrato technique, characterized by its sculptural pointed glass surface. The striking geometric design beautifully reflects and diffuses the light, combining elegant Venetian craftsmanship with a refined modernist character. A rare and highly decorative statement piece with timeless Italian appeal.

Founded in 1295 on the island of Murano (Venice, Italy), where it remains based today, Barovier&Toso is dedicated to preserving and innovating the art of blown glass. Barovier&Toso’s creations are unique works, crafted from Venetian mouth-blown crystal and meticulously shaped by master artisans in Murano. These artisans uphold a centuries-old tradition, passed down through generations. In 1455, Angelo Barovier was granted an exclusive decree by the Republic of Venice to produce “Cristallo Veneziano” (Venetian Crystal), cementing the studio’s legacy in glassmaking history.

Please note that the glass shows some small chips consistent with age and use.
