Adrian Pearsall for Craft Associates, ottoman, walnut, fabric, United States, 1960s

This Adrian Pearsall ottoman is defined by a clear, cohesive geometry. Its circular seat creates a gentle, domed silhouette, softened further by the thick brown fabric. Below, a precise walnut band forms a solid perimeter. Four tapered legs extend from the base with uniform spacing, allowing the rounded form to appear both grounded and slightly elevated.

Adrian Pearsall (1925-2011), trained as an architectural engineer, was a sailor and interior designer. In 1952, Pearsall opened his own furniture company 'Craft Associates’. Pearsall designed some of the most sensuous, gracious midcentury design pieces around, sharing many of the design aesthetics by Vladimir Kagan. His pieces are characterized by flamboyant curves, upswept shapes and stretched proportions.

Please note that the item is in good, used condition with signs of age and use. Reupholstery is possible before shipping by our experienced craftspeople in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized reupholstery is possible as well.
