Adrian Pearsall for Craft Associates, 'Boomerang' sofa, model '1600-S', Pierre Frey 'Louison' bouclé, walnut, United States, 1960s

This exceptional Boomerang sofa, designed by Adrian Pearsall, features a striking, sculptural silhouette with graceful, flowing lines that create a bold yet inviting presence. Its distinctive L-shaped form makes it a perfect statement piece for a living room or dining area, radiating a contemporary, cosmopolitan appeal. The seat is set atop a rich walnut platform, supported by elegant, tapered legs. Upholstered in a grey bouclé by Pierre Frey, the sofa beautifully complements the warmth and natural character of the wood.

Adrian Pearsall (1925-2011), trained as an architectural engineer, was a sailor and interior designer. In 1952, Pearsall opened his own furniture company 'Craft Associates’. Pearsall designed some of the most sensuous, gracious midcentury design pieces around, sharing many of the design aesthetics by Vladimir Kagan. His pieces are characterized by flamboyant curves, upswept shapes and stretched proportions.
