Adrian Pearsall 'Cloud' Sofa in Illustrative Fabric
Tearsheet
Adrian Pearsall for Crafts Associations, cloud sofa, fabric, walnut, United States, 1960s
The Cloud sofa by Adrian Pearsall features a long, asymmetrical seat defined by sinuous, sculptural lines. Its voluminous forms harmonize beautifully with the thick, tufted seat and the plush back cushions, creating a sense of comfort and visual balance. A built-in walnut side table completes the design, adding both warmth and functionality. The sofa’s stretched proportions and organic curves embody the futuristic spirit of the Atomic Age in a truly distinctive way.
Adrian Pearsall, trained as an architectural engineer and interior designer. In 1952, Adrian Pearsall and his brother opened a furniture business called “Craft Associates”. Pearsall designed the furniture and became a profound furniture designer during the mid-century “Atomic Age” that is recognized by geometric lines and shapes.
