Warren Platner for Knoll Sideboard in Original Black Leather
Warren Platner for Knoll, sideboard, metal, oak, leather, United States, design 1973.
This sturdy credenza is designed by the American modernist Warren Platner. He is mostly known for his airy metal, sculptural lounge chairs. In a way it is surprising this sideboard was also designed by Platner. This sideboard is part of an executive collection for high-end office spaces. The piece has two chrome-plated metal legs and a top with oak edge and dark black leather finishing. The sideboard has two doors and two drawers.
Warren Platner (1919-2006) was an American architect who also designed interiors and furniture. In his early years Platner worked for the architect Eero Saarinen. Platner is famous for his refined and theatrical designs and he did not shy away for color.
