Vittorio Introini for Saporiti, lounge chair, chrome, fabric, Italy, 1960s

Sculptural lounge chair created by the Italian designer Vittorio Introini and manufactured by Saporiti. The lounge chair has a very modern shape while regaining its elegance. The sculptural feeling of the chair is emphasized by the chrome frame. This frame pairs perfectly with the grey color of the upholstery. The sharpness of the chair is balanced out by the curved lines such as the bend backrest that is pulled further in the legs. A beautiful design with a modern feel. The lines in the design give the chair a very friendly though strong image!

Vittorio Introini (born 1935) was an Italian Post-war designer. He started designing furniture around the 1960s, being mostly inspired to create international and antihistorical artworks. Moreover, the importance of spatiality and architectural elements is well represented in the work of Introini. These features are also visible in the desk. The designer’s ambition to create an international and avant-garde style was eventually possible when he was able to collaborate with Saporiti Company.
