Ton, 16 armchairs, stained beech and leatherette, Czech Republic, 1960s.
These elegant chairs, manufactured by Ton, features a wonderful bentwood frame. Simplistic design and a more modest model of Ton and Thonet. The seat and backrest are upholstered in brown leatherette, while de backrest still maintains the original leather upholstery.
Ton was founded after WWII in former Thonet factories and continued with the furniture making tradition set up by Thonet. In the 1960s, the Ton company asked various architects to contribute in research and develop new design forms by using the renowned technology of bentwood, leading to new, more contemporary designs.
The upholstery shows signs of age and use, with some tears in the original upholstery. Therefore, reupholstery is necessary. This can be done in any kind of leather of fabric you desire. The professional and experienced craftsmen in our in-house atelier are specialists in the reupholstery of design furniture. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value.
