Sven Ivar Dysthe for Dokka Møbler Pair of Lounge Chairs in Eames Upholstery
Sven Ivar Dysthe for Dokka Møbler, pair of lounge chairs model '1001', oak, fabric upholstery, Norway, 1960
Charles and Ray Eames, patterned fabric 'Circles', manufactured by Maharam, design 1947
This Norwegian lounge chair is characterized by a solid construction that is noticeable in the shape of the wooden frame and the slightly titled elongated backrest that underline the clear structured design. Furthermore, the wood shows a striking texture by means of the oak’s properties, adding a visual excitement and a sense of nature. The seat is upholstered in a delicate fabric designed by Charles and Ray Eames for a textile competition at MoMA in 1947. The armchairs can be placed in the middle of the room or away from the wall, providing the room a lively ambiance.
