Sven Ivar Dysthe for Dokka Møbler, desk, walnut, leather, steel, Norway, 1960s

This refined desk is designed by the Norwegian designer Sven Ivar Dysthe. The desk has four tubular steel legs that are adjusted on the outside of two drawers and also lift up the floating tabletop. The two columns of drawers feature different sizes of drawers; that unsymmetrical detail adds not only functionality but also strength to the design. Striking detail are the leather handles that are combines with the walnut wood. This desk is part of the 3001 series that was a major sales success for Dokka Møbler in the 1960s.
