Spanish Brutalist Pair of Lounge Chairs in Ash and Off-White Upholstery
Pair of lounge chairs, fabric, leather, ash, plastic, metal, Spain, 1970s
This pair of armchairs, originating from Spain, impeccably embodies the distinctive stylistic characteristics of Brutalism. The base and back are pure and clear in their execution, giving the chair both a simple yet stately appearance. The outer straps in cognac leather function as armrests and delicately flow from the back to the front, which contributes to the chair's open appearance. The off-white cushions are put in place through a hanging cloth that is attached to the frame with plastic straps and metal buckles. The style of this chair is based on simplified lines, absence of decoration and the use of neutral materials that are in great harmony.
