Set of Ten Dining Chairs in Cognac Leather
La Permanente Mobili Cantù, dining chairs, wood and leather, Italy, 1950s.
These robust chairs feature a geometric, sturdy frame. Yet they feature a certain spaciousness thanks to the decorative opening on the bottom of the backrest. The joints are all very visible, which enhances the design of these Finnish chairs and shows traits of the design of Ilmari Tapiovaara. The legs and frame are completely straight and both backrest and seat are executed in a thick cognac leather. The leather of the seat features a wonderful curve and patina thanks to wear and use.
