Set of Ten Carved Oak Dining Chairs by Guillerme and Chambron
Guillerme and Chambron, set of ten dining chairs, to be reupholstered, solid oak, 1960s, France.
These distinctive chairs in beautifully patinated oak are designed by the French designer duo Jacques Chambron (1914-2001) and Robert Guillerme (1913-1990). This dining chair shows organic, robust lines in almost every aspect of the chair. Starting with the characteristic Guillerme and Chambron frame with capricious forms and followed by the seating that is thick and comfortable. A nice patina is visible on the wood, which highlights the beautiful lines and curves.
The seats are currently upholstered with an aged fabric and needs to be replaced. This can be done by the experienced craftsmen in our in-house atelier.
The French designer duo Jacques Chambron (1914-2001) and Robert Guillerme (1913-1990) started their production postwar. Many of the furniture designed by this duo this piece shows a strong character and has a great expressive woodwork. The duo installed themselves in an old factory were the machinery was used to make rifles. Guillerme & Chambron saw the potential of these machinery and decided to continue production as it was installed and used them for the design of their high back chairs. The line of different furniture pieces was made in small editions. They call their collection “Votre Maison” which means “Your home.”
