Pierre Cruege, set of 6 dining chairs, oak and cane, France, 1950s
Modernist set of dining chairs by French designer Pierre Cruege with still influences of the Art Deco period noticeable. For instance, the model feature a sturdy backrest, consisting of two wooden elements connected to each other by four slats. The seat is executed in woven cane. Cruege's oeuvre, just like these chairs, holds a balance between post-war industrialism and pre-war craftwork.
