Set of Four Guillerme et Chambron Dining Chairs in Oak
Set of four dining chairs, in oak and fabric upholstery, by Guillerme & Chambron, France, 1960s. Set of four sturdy, decorative dining chairs in solid oak by Guillerme & Chambron. Notable is the solid oak frame with the highly decorative and graphic backrest. The sturdy yet elegantly tapered legs are typical trade of Guillerme and Chambron. The wood shows a nice overall patina. The French designer duo Jacques Chambron (1914-2001) and Robert Guillerme (1913-1990) started their production postwar. Many of the furniture designed by this duo this piece shows a strong character and has a great expressive woodwork. The duo installed themselves in an old factory were the machinery was used to make rifles. Guillerme & Chambron saw the potential of these machinery and decided to continue production as it was installed and used them for the design of their high back chairs. The line of different furniture pieces was made in small editions. They call their collection “Votre Maison” which means “Your home.” Please note that the chairs are in good condition, but show signs of age and use. Before shipping, some restoration is necessary which our in-house atelier can take care of for you.
