Set of Four 'Eva' Armchairs in Rosewood by Niels Koefoed
Niels Koefoed for Koefoeds Hornslet, set of 4 Eva chairs, rosewood and leather, Denmark, 1960s
Beautiful set of four dining chairs with a rosewood frame, designed by the Danish Niels Koefoed. These high back chairs have an elegant and recognizable Scandinavian design. The main feature is the tapered high back that is emphasized by the vertical solid rosewood slats. Connected to the backrests are the quintessential armrests that run down towards the horizontal rod that is placed underneath the leather seat. The complex connection of the armrests and this rod is another wonderful feature. The pointy armrests and tapered legs results in both a stately and frivolous set. The modest, yet detailed design and natural materials gives them the characteristic Scandinavian touch.
