Ton, set of four of armchairs, stained beech and leatherette, Czech Republic, 1960s.
These elegant armchairs, manufactured by Ton, feature a wonderful bentwood frame. Simplistic design and a more modest model of Ton and Thonet. The seat and backrest are upholstered in soft green velour. Ton was founded after WWII in former Thonet factories and continued with the furniture making tradition set up by Thonet. In the 1960s, the Ton Company asked various architects to contribute in research and develop new design forms by using the renowned technology of bentwood, leading to new, more contemporary designs.
The upholstery shows signs of age and use, discolorations and minor fading is visible in the original upholstery. Reupholstery can be done in our in-house atelier in any kind of leather of fabric you desire. Ask our advisors for more information.
