Set of Eight Poul Nørreklit Armchairs in Leather and Steel
Set of eight armchairs designed by Poul Nørreklit for Georg Petersens, Denmark, 1960s.
This comfortable, steady set of eight dining chairs are designed by the Danish designer Poul Nørreklit. The chairs are built up with very straight lines. The legs, seat and armrest are perfectly horizontal or vertical. The exception is made in the back, where the back is slight bent, which is designed to support the body. His designs show many the primary elements of Danish mid-modern design: functionalism, comfort and simplicity. On the other hand, the chairs are executed in leather and steel, which shows their link to the international Modern movement of that era. See these chairs as the best of both: the comfort of a chair by Børge Mogensen with the sharp look of a chair by Marcel Breuer.
